CCC offers an engaging and excellent education for children from 2 ½ years
to Year 12

After the announcement to build an Early Learning Centre at Cooloola Christian College we saw the dream become reality in a matter of six months.  Cooloola Christian College Early Learning Centre is now OPEN for business.

Located adjacent to the existing school, the modern Centre in Gympie has been designed to set a new standard for child care and early years learning.  With access to the outstanding facilities already in place at the College, ELC students will be able to enjoy a variety of activities not normally available through child care centres.

“The new ELC will be such a benefit to our College families,” said CCC Head of Primary, Mr Ross Waltisbuhl.  “Cooloola Christian College will now be able to offer families long day care for children from 15 months, kindergarten and then a quality education from Prep through to Year 12,” he added.

Centre Services

The CCC Early Learning Centre offers a full range of services for children aged from 2½ years:

  • Long Day Care (from 6:30 am to 6:30pm)
  • Pre Kindy program (for age 15months plus)
  • Kindergarten program (for age 3½ plus)
  • Before and After School Care for Primary School aged children
  • Vacation Care for Primary School aged children during the school holidays

Families are able to claim their applicable Child Care Benefit (CCB) and Child Care Rebate (CCR) for the services offered by the CCC Early Learning Centre.

The CCC ELC Kindergarten Program is a Queensland Government approved program.

Benefit to the Local Community

Construction of the new Early Learning Centre commenced soon after the announcement by the College Board and the school was delighted that the successful tenderer was a local Gympie builder, Peter Waldock.

“It is great for the Gympie community that this $1.5 million project will be completed entirely by local sub-contractors, tradesmen and suppliers,” enthused Mr Waldock.  “I commend the school’s desire to have this significant expansion of their campus handled locally,” he added.

Construction began and only took four months to complete.  Cooloola Christian College now has a new state of the art facility in addition to its current outstanding educational facilities.  All services within the CCC Early Learning Centre are available to the local community.

All staff are qualified Early Learning Educators who are passionate about their roles in educating in the Early Years.  CCC early Learning Centre continues to have the same Christian values, ethos and focus as the College.

Community Engagement

An important priority for the ELC is to develop close relationships between staff, parents and children.  Parent participation in the program will be encouraged and strongly supported, so that they become an integral part of the learning community.

Exciting Opportunities

Our new Centre features natural play areas that encourage children to investigate and explore as they commence their life long learning journey.

A number of exciting opportunities also exist to involve the ELC children with our College.  This will broaden their engagement with cultural, sporting and spiritual activities and provide a smooth transition into their first year of formal schooling.
