Independent Learning Centre
Students are on their way of discovering their story when taking on vocational training. Students enjoy and find the benefits of being able to start engaging in specific learning and training of interest for their future careers.
Through the Independent Learning Centre students have been able to engage with external studies such as head start courses, vocational courses, being assisted with distant education subjects and school based traineeships.
In 2016 we had a significant increase in the amount of school based traineeships allowing our students hands on learning and establishing skills in supportive environments.
"Recently I started my traineeship and when finished I will have completed a Certificate II in Business Administration. I was blessed with a great placement at the Gympie Regional Council where I’ve learnt so much already. I think that traineeships are beneficial for any year 10, 11 and 12 students. It’s a great way to get into the workforce and lead you into other job opportunities." Trudy Melidonis (senior student)
