CCC offers an engaging and excellent education for children from 2 ½ years
to Year 12

Music speaks to people in ways that words cannot.  It is something experienced by the individual, yet also something experienced by the community.  In church, we receive individual revelation, whilst praising God together as a community of believers.

At Cooloola Christian College, students are able to develop their musical abilities in order to contribute to their own communities, as well as express themselves.  Students in Years 7 & 8 are able to develop some foundational skills in understanding the elements of Music by both making and responding to the art-form.

In Years 9-12, students are able to select Music as an elective subject.  Over the course of their studies in Music, various types of content are covered across various styles, nationalities and types of assessment (both written and practical).  Most importantly, students are able to further develop their skills and expertise in their instrument of choice.

The Instrumental Program currently caters for over 100 students each week.  Four instructors give weekly group and private lessons to students in both the Primary and Secondary Schools.  Brass, woodwind and percussion students feed into our Concert and Jazz Bands, whilst lessons are also available on keyboard, violin, guitar and piano.  Students are withdrawn from normal lessons each week on a rotating basis to participate in the Instrumental Program.

Throughout the year, students have many opportunities to perform.  A variety of ensembles exist to allow students to develop their practical performance skills.  These include Chapel Band, Concert Band, Drum Corps, Jazz Band, String Ensemble and Primary Choir.  These ensembles participate in weekly Chapel services and Commendation ceremonies; Presentation Nights and special College events; Community events such as the Gympie Eisteddfod, Gympie Show, ANZAC Parade; service ministries to Nursing Homes and Charity events; and two annual concerts, COLLIDE -O- SCOPE and ENCORE.  Every student at Cooloola Christian College is encouraged to take the opportunity to be involved.
