Primary school students across the Gympie region will be pushed to their limits this month at the seventh annual Gympie Primary Leaders Day (GPLD).

Hosted by Cooloola Christian College, the event which will be held on Wednesday 26th February 2020, attracts more than 250 Year 6 students each year.

Inspirational guest presenter John Zeckendorf will share about his amazing mountaineering achievements – summitting all 7 of the highest mountains across the continents – a feat that very few have achieved.

Event Coordinator Mr Ross Waltisbuhl said that the GPLD program is a fun mix of activities which has a lasting impact on the students who attend.

“We are now in our seventh year and the event just keeps getting better,” he said.

“We are looking forward to John Zeckendorf sharing some amazing stories of his climbing achievements, including Mount Everest”.

“We have our most popular interactive leadership activities returning including the climbing wall, art session and Gold Rush obstacle course. However, this year we have added canoeing, a treasure hunt, music and the challenging milk crate stack, providing leadership lessons through hands on activities.”

Comment from previous participants – “We learnt how to be resilient and set achievable goals.” “It really is a fun day, and the instructors were amazing.”

This event is proudly brought to you by Kingdom Financial, and sponsored by Gympie Regional Council, The MadHatter & Co – Catering and Events, Ag Solutions, Murray Views and Hannah McLaren Photography.
